Course Description
Security Guard Certification Renewal | Review critical legal topics, such as authority and limitations as a security guard, reinforcing reporting requirements, and ensuring clarity around use of force and legal ramifications. Enhance skills around de-escalation, time/distance/cover techniques and using effective communication in high-pressure situations. Hone needed skills to engage with people in the field, from individuals with behavioral health issues to minors or people with disabilities. Learn protocols for offering or seeking aid when needed. CEUs issued. $89 includes $18 fee. Note: With successful completion, participants are up to date with MPCTC requirements and maintain license eligibility. Students must be 18 or older and a currently licensed Maryland security guard. Course is approved by the Maryland Police and Correctional Training Commissions (MPCTC) to satisfy the eight-hour security guard certification renewal.
