Course Description

Relief Printmaking | Study the basics of relief printmaking, including woodcut and linocut. Explore this media as a means of personal expression. CEUs issued. $432 includes $60 fee. Note: Also offered for credit at ART 149.

Learner Outcomes

Demonstrate intaglio print processes; Practice and use traditional approaches to create imagery on copper and/or zinc plates; Identify and use basic techniques of printing including inking and wiping a plate; Identify and discuss the proper way to cut, bevel, clean and prepare a plate for application of liquid hard ground etching; Apply broad areas of tone to the aquatint image.
