Course Description

Sculpture 2 | Build on the knowledge and skills acquired in ATS-340 Sculpture 1 or ART-135 Sculpture 1: Clay Modeling Mixed. Develop an understanding of the elements of sculptural form while investigating and refining a number of sculptural materials and processes including casting. CEUs issued. $447 includes $75 fee. Prerequisite: ATS-340 Sculpture 1, ART-135 Sculpture 1: Clay Model and Mix Media or permission of department chair. Note: Also offered for credit as ART 235.

Learner Outcomes

Create comprehensive sculptural compositions applying formal elements related to additive methods; Demonstrate modeling skills through creating expressive sculptural compositions in clay using modeling tools; Identify and apply process and techniques related to subtractive methods in three dimensional forms; Demonstrate skills using materials and tools in the development of constructionist compositions and processes; Analyze and discuss sculptural compositions using related terminology.
