Course Description

Preapprenticeship Electrical Training Part A | Prepare to enter a Registered Electrical Apprenticeship program. Learn from an industry professional in classroom and online instruction with hands-on lab training at IECC. Gain industry knowledge and obtain OSHA 10, CPR/First Aid certifications while preparing for entry into a registered apprenticeship. Job placement assistance is available upon successful completion of the program. CEUs issued. Corequisites: OPA-363 Preapprenticeship Electrical Training Part B, and OPA-354 Workforce Success Skills. Cost: $1,237 includes $637 fee. Note: Cost includes instruction, textbook and supplies. Held in partnership with Independent Electrical Contractors Chesapeake (IECC).

Learner Outcomes

Identify various career paths available in the electrical industry; Discuss how attitude and behavior on the jobsite will be evaluated by his/her foreman; List a variety of study techniques and describe the benefits of using them; List general safety rules; Demonstrate how to read a tape measure.
