Course Description

Listen to the music of Russian romantics including Rubenstein, Tchaikovsky, Rachmaninov and the Mighty Fistful and gain deeper understanding of their music. $33 includes $32 fee.

Learner Outcomes

Demonstrate how Russian music evolved from national to international; Discuss the “Mighty Fistful” and its relationship with Romanticism; Recognize the style of Tchaikovsky in the variety of genres he utilized; Evaluate the style of Rachmaninov in composing and performing.
