Learner Outcomes

Employ load calculations for single-phase and three-phase branch circuits to select and size electrical conductors for specific applications; Identify the lighting requirements associated with lighting systems used in selected applications such as office buildings, schools, theaters, and hazardous areas; Define the various classifications of hazardous locations and the wiring methods permitted in these specific hazardous locations; Explain the National Electrical Code (NEC) requirements, selection and size regarding overcurrent protection for specific applications. Describe distribution equipment and the four general classifications and ratings of circuit breakers.
