Course Description

French Language and Customs Refine grammatical structures while learning new vocabulary to communicate in French on a variety of topics like arts, history, culinary and UNESCO heritages sites in France. Hone skills in listening, speaking, reading, writing and culture. Note: Senior Cycle fee class. Students must be 55 years or older by start date in order to enroll in this class.

Learner Outcomes

Recite basic phrases, simple sentences and start development of complex sentence structures in French; Evaluate French diction; Discuss language concepts and idioms and identify the most commonly used nouns, gender, plurals and definite/indefinite articles, verbs, liaisons, etc.; Identify and understand the meaning of expressions particular to certain regions of France; Develop an appreciation for French culture and civilization.

Online | French Language and Customs | Refine grammatical structures while learning new vocabulary to communicate in French on a variety of topics like arts, history, culinary and UNESCO heritages sites in France. This course will emphasize all aspects of French language: listening, speaking, reading, writing and culture. No book requirement for this course. Note: Attendance in online class sessions Wednesdays from 11:00 a.m.- 1:00 p.m. is mandatory for section 201.
