Course Description

Day in the Court: Mock Trial | Play the roles of judge, defendant, plaintiff, witness, lawyer, bailiff or juror in several mock trials. Working in pairs, learn to make opening and closing statements, how to phrase objections and how to question witnesses. Participate in a mock trial based on cases from past national and state-level mock trial competitions. $236+ includes $164 fee.

Learner Outcomes

Develop an understanding about the legal system, courtroom procedures, and ethical considerations in law; Practice public speaking, persuasive argumentation and effective communication; Use teamwork to build and present a strong mock trail case.

If your child cannot attend a course or camp, a course drop form must be completed, submitted and received by the college no later than seven calendar days prior to the course or camp start date in order for a refund to be issued. Completed course drop forms can be submitted by fax (410-777-4325), mail, online through the noncredit registration site or in-person at one of our registration sites. Drop forms not received within the time period required above will be processed, but no refund will be issued.
