Course Description

Professional Welding MIG Part B | Prepare for AWS certified welder certification. Learn Gas Metal Arc Welding (MIG) process, proper adjustment of equipment and making fillet, groove welds in all positions on carbon steel. CEUs issued. $3,143 includes $2,524 fee.  Note: Must be 18 or older to enroll. Fire-retardant pants and shirt, hard-toe boots and safety goggles required. Bring welding gear to class.

Learner Outcomes

Interpret AWS Weld and Welding Symbols and differentiate between the metallurgy of common metal alloys; Demonstrate knowledge of basic joints, material specifications, tolerances and general blueprint related knowledge; Demonstrate knowledge of drawing lines and views and identify structural shapes; Demonstrate fillet and groove welds in all positions; Perform welds in 3G and 4G positions on 3/8" plate for the welders certification test.
