Course Description

Professional Welding TIG Part B | Prepare for AWS certified welder certification. Learn proper setup of welding equipment, welding symbols, material specifications and blueprint reading. Demonstrate flat, vertical and horizontal fillet and flat groove welds in carbon, stainless steel and aluminum. CEUs issued. $3,143 includes $2,524 fee.  Note: Must be 18 or older to enroll. Fire-retardant pants and shirt, hard-toe boots and safety goggles required. Bring welding gear to class.

Learner Outcomes

Interpret AWS Weld and Welding Symbols and differentiate between the metallurgy of common metal alloys; Demonstrate knowledge of basic joints, material specifications, tolerances and general blueprint related knowledge; Demonstrate knowledge of drawing lines and views and identify structural shapes; Demonstrate fillet and groove welds on carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum; Perform vertical butt welds of Carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum.
