Course Description

Diesel Technology 2 | Learn how to consult with customers and read service orders to determine required work. Read and interpret diagnostic test results to identify and solve mechanical problems. Inspect drive trains, brake systems, chassis and diesel engines to diagnose mechanical issues. Textbook information available at AACC Bookstore. CEUs issued. $1,352.00 includes $60 fee. Corequisites: OCA-596 Diesel Technology Part 1, OCA-598 Diesel Technology Part 3 and NRN-332 HeartSaver CPR/First Aid. Note: Must be 18 or older to enroll. Students successfully completing Diesel Technology parts 1, 2 and 3 will be eligible to sit for the Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Entry Level Inspection, Maintenance and Minor Repair exam. There is an additional cost for NRN-332, HeartSaver CPR/First Aid.

Learner Outcomes

Inspect and diagnose common diesel engine mechanical problems; Identify the different wheel configurations used in the trucking industry; Explain how to inspect and service brake systems; Discuss various components of the chassis/cab of heavy-duty trucks; Conduct drive train inspection and service.
