Course Description

Diesel Technology 3 | Inspect, repair and maintain heavy duty trucks and critical subsystems. Perform service inspections for various types of suspension, electrical, coupling and trailer systems. Examine common language and examples of expectations for essential workforce skills in the diesel technology industry. Textbook information available at AACC Bookstore. CEUs issued. $1,403.00 includes $111 fee. Corequisites: OCA-596 Diesel Technology Part 1, OCA-597 Diesel Technology Part 2 and NRN-332 HeartSaver CPR/First Aid. Note: Must be 18 or older to enroll. Students successfully completing Diesel Technology 1, 2 and 3 will be eligible to sit for the Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Entry Level Inspection, Maintenance and Minor Repair exam. There is an additional cost for NRN-332, HeartSaver CPR/First Aid.

Learner Outcomes

Perform service inspection for various types of steering and suspension systems; Describe electrical systems and auxiliary components; Explain different styles and types of fifth wheels available in the trucking industry; List the benefits of a well-planned trailer preventive maintenance program; Examine common language and examples of expectations for essential workforce skills in the diesel technology industry.
