Course Description

Windows 10 and 11: Intermediate Level | Build upon skills acquired in Introduction to Window 10 and 11. Review common Windows elements, examine system properties, organizing folders and manipulating folders while working in a Windows application. Practice restoring deleted files, renaming files, protecting data as well as disk management. Prerequisite: Completing CTT-928 Introduction to Computers recommended or permission of instruction. Note: Students must be 55 or older by start date to enroll in this class.

Learner Outcomes

Evaluate and review the keyboard functions, the taskbar menu, and list two features to enhance browsing; Explore Windows 10 and 11 software properties and demonstrate three ways to customize them; Define disk Management and format and assign two drive letters to allocate space on a drive; Manipulate three folders while working within an application and show examples of each; List three ways to stay safe while using explorer, google, and other browsers and discuss recent scams targeting senior citizens.

Learn to communicate with doctors, set up an email account and stay safe while online. Note: Access to an iPad, Chrome notebook or desktop will be available in class. Students are welcome to bring a personal device.
