Course Description

Touchstones Discussions:  B-2 | Read brief extracts from the great works of Western and Eastern civilizations in class. Discuss the ideas of philosophers, writers and thinkers such as Harriet Martineau, Robert Frost, St. Augustine, Mary Wollstonecraft, Charles Darwin and others. Note: Senior Cycle fee class. Students must be 55 years or older by start date in order to enroll in this class.

Learner Outcomes

Read and review brief extracts from the great works of Western and Eastern civilizations; Practice leadership skills in discussion dynamics that can be applied to life, family, and civic contributions; Apply readings in the examination of subjects ranging from philosophy to political science to folktales; Discuss selected texts in a group setting using shared inquiry methodology; Discover how to frame responses within the context of one’s life experiences.
