Course Description

The Science of Vision: Understanding the Eye | Explore the basics of vision with an overview of the anatomy and physiology of the human eye. Discover its amazing mechanics, from how light enters and gets focused, to how the brain turns those signals into the world we see. Learn about common age-related conditions and diseases of the eye. Note: Senior Cycle class. Students must be 55 or older by start date to enroll.

Learner Outcomes

Explore the basic anatomy of the human eye; Describe the basic mechanisms of vision and of the visual pathway; Explain the most common eye pathologies, their causes and their treatment; Discuss visual correction methods.
