Course Description

Stained Glass Mosaics: Design, Production, and Marketing | Discover the modern resurgence of the mosaic stained glass art form. Learn to craft beautiful mosaic designs using stained glass on a variety of surfaces, such as picture frames and tiles. The course includes practical guidance on pricing finished pieces and identifying marketing opportunities for selling mosaic stained glass artwork. Note: A recommended supply list will be provided by the instructor during class. Senior Cycle class. Students must be 55 or older by start date to enroll.

Learner Outcomes

Identify three materials required to create a mosaic-stained glass project and list one historical fact of mosaic arts; Demonstrate proper techniques for working with decorative glass using safety protocols and designated tools and supplies; Name the tesserae, colors, and pattern to be considered when planning a mosaic-stained glass project and discuss the marketability of the project; Create two mosaic-stained glass art pieces and identify two viable marketing platforms for selling complete pieces; Identify and describe basic marketing methods to display, and price, mosaic-stained glass art.
