Course Description

Pre-Apprenticeship Plumbing Training Part A | Learn entry-level plumbing skills. Explore job site safety concepts and learn how to use to the right tool for the job. Obtain OSHA General Construction and CPR/First Aid certifications. CEUs issued. $2,010 includes $810 fee. Corequisites: CIT-312 Pre-Apprenticeship Plumbing Training Part B and NRN-332 Heartsaver CPR/First Aid. Note: Cost includes instruction, textbook and supplies. There are additional costs for NRN-332, HeartSaver CPR/First Aid.

 

Learner Outcomes

Apply plumbing procedures and OSHA safety training to identify and mitigate workplace and laboratory risks with reference to industry regulations, tool use, material handling guidelines, and PPE; Identify and demonstrate safe use and maintenance of hand and power tools; Employ mathematic calculations including basic operations, geometric principles, and algebraic processes to estimate, measure, and layout materials in both the classroom and laboratory environment; Interpret construction drawings and written specifications in accordance with construction building codes; Describe the uses and types of different pipe materials and fittings in plumbing installations including plastic, copper, cast iron, and steel;
