Course Description

Pre-Apprenticeship Plumbing Training Part B | Learn hands-on, entry-level plumbing skills. Understand job site safety concepts. Learn through hands-on practice which tools are used for which jobs. Obtain OSHA General Construction and CPR/First Aid certifications. CEUs issued. $1,110 includes $110 fee. Corequisites: CIT-311 Pre-Apprenticeship Plumbing Training Part A and NRN-332 Heartsaver CPR First Aid AED. Note: Cost includes instruction, textbook and supplies. There are additional costs for NRN-332, HeartSaver CPR/First Aid.

Learner Outcomes

Apply plumbing procedures and OSHA safety training to identify and mitigate workplace and laboratory risks with reference to industry regulations, tool use, material handling guidelines, and PPE; Describe and demonstrate procedures for the use of steel pipe and its associated fittings and valves for hot and cold water distribution; Identify and demonstrate the installation of plumbing fixtures such as faucets and appliances to meet regulations set forth in the local area building code employing mathematic calculations; Describe the components, functions, and mechanics of Drain, Waste, and Vent (DWV) systems; Identify the major components of municipal, residential, and private water distribution systems;
