Discuss federal regulations, airspace, aviation weather, loading and performance, radio communications, emergency procedures, physiological factors affecting pilot performance, Aeronautical Decision Making (ADM), crew resource management (CRM), airport operations, and maintenance and inspections procedures. CEUs issued. $134 includes $10 fee. Note: This course prepares students to take the FAA Remote Pilot Certificate Exam (exam cost not included in course fees). Learner Outcomes

Apply appropriate federal laws and regulations specific to small uncrewed aircraft systems (sUAS) operations; Interpret aviation charts to identify controlled and uncontrolled airspace, operating requirements, special-use airspace, and flight restrictions; Evaluate aviation weather charts, reports, and forecasts specific to safe sUAS operations; Explain the effects of weather, temperature, and humidity on sUAS performance; Describe the importance of determining the proper weight and balance condition critical to safe operation of a sUAS; Demonstrate proper radio phraseology and procedures to operate safely and efficiently in the airspace system; Explain the potential circumstances that would create an inflight emergency and how to mitigate potential consequences; Describe the physiological factors that can affect pilot performance; Explain how aeronautical decision-making (ADM) principles, including crew resource management (CRM), provide a systematic approach to good decision-making that assess and mitigate risk; Describe what data a sUAS pilot needs when operating in the vicinity of an airport; Describe the maintenance and inspection required to assure safe operation of a sUAS.
