Course Description

Substantial Change is defined as a significant modification or expansion of the nature and scope of a program or course. Substantial change includes high-impact, high-risk changes and changes that can impact the quality of educational programs and instruction. Most importantly, it applies to how instructors measure and evaluate assignments within their respective courses and pedagogies. Presented in an alternative fashion (sign up to see what that means). Delve into the definitions of goals, objectives, and outcomes, new ways needed to think about assessment BEYOND learning outcomes, and the importance of this work at all levels. Identify the difference between change and assessment. Appraise assessment methods. Create assignments that are effectively mapped to Department Goals/College Values/Institution Strategic Plan Goals.
