Course Description

Connecting Credit and Noncredit: Using Data to Understand Community College Student Pathways | National community college frameworks increasingly emphasize integrating credit and noncredit systems to create coherent pathways that reflect how students move through postsecondary education. Explore how students transition between noncredit and credit coursework, using national and state-level data to highlight common pathways rather than treating these systems as separate silos. Focus on developmental education, English Language Learner (ELL) programs, and guided pathways, helping participants understand how to use data to support students who enter college through different starting points. Evaluate national and state data to identify common pathways between noncredit and credit programs, including transitions from developmental and ELL coursework to credit coursework. Apply research-informed frameworks to use institutional data more effectively in supporting student progression across credit and noncredit systems.
