Focus on the power of authentic relationships in supporting student success and creating meaningful learning experiences. Explore how intentional connection, trust-building, and genuine care can positively impact student engagement, motivation, and persistence. Examine your own approaches to student interaction and learn practical strategies for showing up in ways that are approachable, affirming, and responsive to students diverse needs and experiences. Identify the role of authentic relationships in supporting student engagement, motivation, and persistence. Reflect on personal approaches to student interaction and areas for growth in building trust and connection. Apply practical strategies to create meaningful, affirming connections that support students inside and outside of the classroom. Grounded in AACCs values of community, relationships, and belonging, the workshop topics emphasize moving beyond transactional interactions to cultivate connections that help students feel seen, heard, and supported, both inside and outside of the classroom.
