XOA-184 - Rubric Remix

Course Description
Rubric Remix | Rubrics can be incredibly helpful, or quietly frustrating. Many of us use them to clarify expectations and streamline grading, but they do not always reflect what we really want students to learn. This hands on, highly interactive session invites faculty/instructional staff to bring an existing rubric and work together to reshape it into something more holistic, outcomes based, and learning centered. Before the session, participants are asked to read The Role of Rubrics in Advancing and Assessing Student Learning by Kenneth Wolf and Ellen Stevens and Teaching With Rubrics: The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly by Heidi Goodrich Andrade, and to bring one rubric they currently use. We will spend our time talking, writing, revising, and comparing notes with colleagues from across disciplines. Rather than working alone, we will lean into the collective wisdom of the room by asking good questions, sharing language, and trying out new ways to describe learning more clearly and holistically. Expect real conversation, collaboration, and practical takeaways instead of polished theory.Loading...
