Course Description

Unpacking Resistance: Psychological Underpinnings of Human Response | Preparing every student for success requires thoughtful attention to how change is designed, implemented, and experienced across the institution. This workshop offers an educational exploration of the psychological and organizational dimensions of change, with a focus on resistance as a frequently encountered and informative response in professional and institutional settings. Drawing on research and applied frameworks, participants examine how resistance can surface insights about processes, communication, and structures that may unintentionally create barriers to student learning. Rather than viewing resistance solely as an obstacle, the session considers how it can be analyzed and integrated to strengthen clarity, equity, and student-centered practice. Designed as a professional learning experience, the workshop invites participants to reflect on their roles in shaping learning environments- supporting intentional bridges to student success. Participants at all career stages, including those aspiring to or currently serving in leadership roles, will engage in dialogue and shared learning focused on building intentional, student-centered change practices.
