Course Description
My dissertation research is based more in the social sciences than the humanities and there is PLENTY of humanity within it. Examine the research and qualitative study of ten LGBTQ+-identified community college students. Explore the results of my study reinforced LGBTQ+ community college students need for diverse college initiatives, signifiers of LGBTQ+ safety on campus, and support from individual faculty and staff members, as well as the potential benefit of mentoring relationships on campus. The dissertation also fills a critical gap in related research, as most LGBTQ+ student research in higher education focuses on residential four-year college and university environments instead of community colleges.Loading...
