XDV-633 - From Awareness to Action: Identity, Power and Community
Loading...
Course Description
Please join us for campus engagement experience featuring Belonging, Academic Success, and Community (BAC) students. Explore how identity, power, and privilege shape lived experiences, access, opportunity, and belonging. Examine how students reflected on their own intersecting identities, examined experiences of privilege and marginalization, and considered how greater awareness of ourselves and the world around us can move us toward meaningful action. For their culminating projects, students will create public-facing artifacts that connect identity, awareness, and action. Through visual art, multimedia, personal narratives, poetry, infographics, advocacy materials, and other creative formats, students will share something meaningful about who they are, what they have learned about power and privilege, and how that learning connects to a real-world issue, community, or possibility for action. Rather than simply presenting their work, students will invite visitors to pause, reflect, question, connect, and engage with the ideas they have explored throughout the unit.Loading...
