Course Description

Explore practical, manageable strategies faculty can use to support student engagement, persistence, and course completion. Examine approaches to identifying and reaching out to struggling students, connecting students with academic support, and using incompletes appropriately, with time for faculty to exchange strategies that have worked in their own courses. Identify students who may benefit from timely intervention using Canvas and other course indicators. Apply simple communication and outreach strategies to re-engage students who are missing work or falling behind. Connect students with appropriate academic support resources. Review strategies for determining when an incomplete may be appropriate and supporting students through completion. Exchange and evaluate retention and engagement practices with colleagues.
