Course Description

Discover how to be more effective allies for the LGBTQ+ community in their classrooms and beyond. Explore the importance of understanding LGBTQ+ history, challenges, culture, and community to provide allyship to LGBTQ+ members. This workshop is designed as an introductory safe space to help those who are just starting their journey as an ally, or who have questions about the language and behaviors expected of allies. Time for anonymous questions and answers and a safe space to ask scary questions. While not a Safe Zone Training, parts of the workshop are modified from Safe Zone, an uncopyrighted free resource for educators in colleges and universities.
