Course Description

Veterinary Assisting Internship | Gain hands-on experience in the veterinary assistant field. Perform tasks supervised by a veterinary technician or supervisor. CEUs issued. Unpaid internship of at least 54 hours required. Must be 18 and have approval from coordinator and instructor before beginning internship. $330 includes $330 fee. Co-requisites: Must register for SPP-300 Veterinary Assisting

Learner Outcomes

Demonstrate proper telephone etiquette by taking telephone messages and dealing with difficult calls; Identify all exam room equipment; Demonstrate SAFE handling and MANUAL restraint of patients; Prepare patient vaccines under supervision; Assist veterinarian in performing a physical exam.
