Course Description

Introduction to the Trucking Industry | Prepare for the Department of Transportation medical certification. Learn about regulations and compliance, medical requirements for licensure, and fatigue and wellness awareness. CEUs issued. $1,410 includes $1,210 fee.   NOTE: Must be 18 or older and possess a valid U.S. driver's license to enroll. Includes textbooks and instruction. Students must meet with program coordinator prior to registration. Call 410-777-1163 to make an appointment.

Learner Outcomes

Review medical requirements, fatigue and wellness awareness and disqualifiers related to operating a commercial motor vehicle; Demonstrate understanding of safe driving practices related to commercial motor vehicles; Explore the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations; Articulate basic operational and control skills necessary to safely operate a commercial motor vehicle; Prepare for commercial learner's permit exam.
