Course Description

Sensational Summer Salads | Beat the heat with a repertoire of tempting salads perfect for lunches, picnics or parties. Learn to make creative and satisfying sides and meals from hot, cold, cooked and raw ingredients. $85+ includes $40 fee. Note: Students must wear closed-toe shoes and long pants.

Learner Outcomes

Recognize the importance of mise en place, getting ingredients together; Demonstrate the safe usage of professional kitchen hand tools and utensils; Demonstrate proper kitchen safety and sanitation procedures; Apply proper technique for preparing and cooking the recipes; Demonstrate proper understanding of appropriate cooking methods; Learn to use seasonal ingredients to make summer salads; Critique the recipes you prepared in class.
