Course Description
Dental Assisting and Radiology: Lecture | Learn the basic skills necessary to become an entry-level dental assistant. Define dental anatomy, terminology, instruments and infection control procedures. Prepare for the Dental Assisting National Board's Radiation Health and Safety exam. Textbook information available at AACC Bookstore. CEUs issued. $688 includes $92 fee. Prerequisite: Must be 18 years or older. Corequisites: OPA-371 Dental Assist and Rad-Skills Lab. Note: Additional cost for Dental Assisting National Board Exam for the Radiation Health and Safety exam. Additional cost for teal scrubs and shoes.

Discuss and apply head and neck anatomy, and landmarks of the face and oral cavity; Identify, use and maintain dental instruments, treatment room equipment and accessories for various dental procedures; Describe the importance of infection control and the procedures used to ensure a clean dental office; Identify the foundations of dental radiology; Prepare student for the Dental Assisting National Board Radiology Health and Safety exam.Applies Towards the Following Certificates
