Course Description
Sign Language Lab: Expressive Rules and Idioms | Examine common rules of signing production, expressive rules and deaf culture idioms. Build on fundamental vocabulary, syntax structure and techniques learned in Conversational Sign Language 1 or previous instruction. Textbook information available at AACC Bookstore. $57 includes $10 fee. Prerequisite: CSL-303 Conversational Sign Language 1 or permission of instructor.Learner Outcomes
Review American Sign Language syntax and common expressive rules; Practice American Sign Language expanding vocabulary from Conversational Sign Language Level One to include sixty or more additional signs; Translate common American Sign Language idioms and English idioms in American Sign Language; Demonstrate American Sign Language comment structure, pronouns, noun-verb pairs, compound signs and classifiers in group exercises; Explore opportunities to communicate using American Sign Language in the community.Loading...
