Social Media: Best Practices and Tips | Explore the five most popular social media sites. Discover the best practices to stay safe online, and learn how to safely share pictures and videos and keep in touch with family and friends. Note: Senior Cycle fee class. Students must be 55 years or older by start date in order to enroll in this class.

Learner Outcomes

Identify the five most popular social media sites and discuss benefits and uses of each site; Discuss the dangers of social media and the best practices to stay safe online including password selection and storage; Demonstrate the ability to configure privacy settings on Facebook and social media platforms and discover how to create a user profile; Explore methods to share pictures and videos and determine what to share and what not to share on social media; Explore keeping in touch with family and friends on social media and discover interesting groups on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.
