Analyze the character of Sherlock Holmes through continued reading and study of his work. Examine the literary style of Conan Doyle.

Learner Outcomes

Analyze characteristics of the Sherlock Holmes character; Explain in detail the writing style of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle; Recognize artistic license taken in entertainment mediums relative to time, settings, and characterization; Evaluate the depiction and portrayal of Sherlock Holmes in adaptations of the literature, i.e. movies, television, audio books.
