Course Description
Sympathy Flowers: Sprays and Arrangements | Create traditional and contemporary casket sprays, standing sprays and arrangements to display a cremation urn. Discuss family consultations and coordination with funeral directors. Learn to personalize arrangements, to capture the spirit of the deceased. $371+ includes $205 fee. Note: Foundations of Floral Design (FLR-343) recommended. Floral knife or sharp pocketknife, pruning shears, wire cutters and ribbon scissors required. Note: If you cannot attend, a course drop form must be completed, submitted and received by the college no later than seven calendar days before the course start date in order for a refund to be issued. Completed course drop forms can be submitted by fax at (410-777-4325), by mail, online through the noncredit registration site or in-person at one of our registration sites.Learner Outcomes
Discuss consultation issues while working with families of the deceased and coordinating with funeral directors; Identify the various types of sympathy tributes and containers, pre-made forms, fasteners and other sympathy accessories needed to construct them; Demonstrate proper construction mechanics for securing casket sprays, wreaths, standing sprays, cremation urn arrangements and other sympathy tributes; Evaluate appropriate flower selection, foliage, and botanical materials for use in sympathy arrangements; Create three sympathy arrangements.Notices
