Course Description

Flowers to Wear | Create contemporary wearable body flowers and explore the latest trends in floral fashion. Examine the construction mechanics, identify appropriate flowers to use, and assess design principles to create competition worthy boutonnieres, corsages, floral jewelry and other flowers to wear. $248+ includes $80 fee. Note: Students must bring a floral knife or sharp pocketknife, pruning shears, wire cutters and ribbon scissors. Note: If you cannot attend, a course drop form must be completed, submitted and received by the college no later than seven calendar days prior to the course start date in order for a refund to be issued. Completed course drop forms can be submitted by fax (410-777-4325), mail, online through the noncredit registration site or in-person at one of our registration sites.

Learner Outcomes

Define the design category flowers to wear and describe the types of designs currently trending in contemporary floral design; Identify appropriate flowers and botanical elements used for flowers to wear; Discuss the mechanics and best practices for mass production of prom flowers; Create a contemporary boutonniere and corsage for prom or wedding; Construct a hair wreath.
