Course Description

Notable Women of the World | Examine the lives of influential women who shaped the world regarding women's rights, politics, culture, science and religion. Explore how, as champions of their causes, these women positively influenced the welfare and conditions of humanity. Note: Senior Cycle fee class. Students must be 55 years or older by start date in order to enroll in this class.

Learner Outcomes

Analyze the role of women in society and explore how women positively influenced the welfare and conditions of humanity; Discuss the Equal Rights Movement; Identify scientific, political, and social "firsts" made by women; Discuss the contributions women made in public policy, education, and humanitarian work; Research and discuss cultural and philanthropic programs started by women.
