Course Description

Founding Fathers' Generation | Examine the generation of Americans who successfully defeated Britain in a war for independence, established a government that derives its powers from the consent of the governed, and defeated Britain in a second war (1812) that confirmed the nation as one to be reckoned with.

Learner Outcomes

Identify the key individuals who initiated the revolution against Britain; Examine the causes leading to separation from Britain; Discuss key military leaders, strategies, and battles of the Revolutionary War; Explore the Articles of Confederation; Analyze the reasons for the creation of a new constitution.
