Course Description

Women Who Changed the World | Explore the lives of influential women who have shaped the world in the areas of science, sports, the arts, public service and government. Learn how, as champions of their causes, these women positively influenced the welfare and conditions of humanity. Note: Senior Cycle fee class. Students must be 55 years or older by start date in order to enroll in this class.

Learner Outcomes

Analyze the role of women in society and explore how women positively influenced the welfare and conditions of humanity; Discuss the Equal Rights Movement; Identify scientific, political, and social "firsts" made by women; Discuss the contributions women made in public policy, education, and humanitarian work; Research and discuss cultural and philanthropic programs started by women.
