Course Description

Functional Mobility and Balance 1 | Learn to improve and maintain coordination and balance. Study fall prevention and movement and balance concepts and practices. Note: Senior Cycle fee class. Students must be 55 years or older by start date in order to enroll in this class.

Learner Outcomes

Define the concepts of balance and coordination; Explain the value of balance, strength and coordination for healthy aging; Describe the importance of preventing falls in the maintenance of independent and healthy living; Demonstrate techniques and strategies for improving coordination and balance.
