Beethoven: The Man, the Myth, the Music | Everyone knows about Beethoven - but do they? Study Beethoven's life and times and the forces that motivated him throughout his life as expressed in his music. $33 includes $32 fee.

Learner Outcomes

Examine Beethoven's life and the forces that motivated him; Examine Beethoven in a historical and cultural context by discussing Napoleon, the Enlightenment, family structure, the politics of the day, and the place of the artist in society during his lifetime; Describe key stylistic traits of Beethoven's music in musical terms; Analyze how specific music examples represent Beethoven's stylistic periods and the genres in which he worked.
