Course Description

Moons in the Solar System | Explore the origin, evolution and future fate of the hundreds of diverse moons around planets (and some dwarf planets) in our solar system. $33 includes a $32 fee. Note: Requires membership in Peer Learning Partnership (PLP). Biannual membership is $30.

Learner Outcomes

Explore the huge diversity among moons of the planets in the solar system; Examine the origin and evolution of different moons around different planets and how that affects their current state; Discuss how interactions with their host planets affects the interior and ultimate fate of different moons; Explore why it is likely that some icy moons have subsurface oceans of liquid water that could support life.
