Poetry: Discover Your Poetic Potential | Develop the skills to write poetry. Define elements of poetry using the works of current and past poets. Write poems inspired by a variety of topics. Practice critiquing techniques; outline publishing options. $82 includes $10 fee.

Learner Outcomes

Define elements and forms of poetry including the following: image, sound, meaning, metaphor, simile, and line breaks; Explore poetry elements through reading and discussion of poems and essays by well-known poets and writers; Write poems inspired by specific themes: Journey, Nature, and Family; Discuss the revision process in poetry including critiquing techniques; Outline poetry publishing options for the 21st century.
