Course Description

An Insight into Basic Investing | Examine what you need to know before purchasing investment vehicles such as stocks, bonds, mutual funds and certificates of deposit. Discuss common myths about investing and how to avoid mistakes. $55 includes $15 fee. Note: Instructors do not provide advice on specific investments and neither the instructor nor AACC is responsible for students' personal investments.

Learner Outcomes

Define and describe the risks and rewards of investing personal finances; Identify five investment options and discuss examples of utilizing each; List two current tax updates and discuss their implications when investing; Evaluate and compare the benefits of stocks, bonds, and mutual funds; Identify three common investor mistakes and describe one method to avoid them.
