Course Description

Pyramids, Pharaohs and Mummies: A History of Ancient Egypt | Explore the history of ancient Egypt. Discuss Egyptian cultures and rituals like mummification. Identify and review the many pharaohs and their dynasties. Discover the remarkable architecture of the pyramids and tombs. Note: Senior Cycle fee class. Students must be 55 years or older by start date in order to enroll in this class.

Learner Outcomes

Identify art and architecture, language, practices and landscapes unique to Egypt; Discuss Egyptian medicine including mummification, spells and rituals; Identify historical figures such as King Narmer, Sneferu, and King Tut; Develop a deeper understanding of Egyptian culture and life through the stories and artifacts that use hieroglyphs.
