Course Description

Rhythm and Riffs: Jazz Band Camp | Develop improvisation, performance, jazz harmony, ear training and sight reading. Rehearse and perform within a small combo and big band setting. Work with AACC jazz faculty as well as leading educators and area performers. Note: Students must bring their own instrument. A survey will be sent to students two weeks prior to camp beginning to collect instrument information and years of experience. $339 includes $14 fee.

Learner Outcomes

Explore and develop jazz repertoire, while strengthening the art of interpretation and improvisation; Achieve an optimum level of performance while investigating various styles within the jazz repertoire; Develop a deeper sensitivity toward various jazz styles, performance practices and musicianship; Perform in a showcase.
