Course Description

The U.S. Presidents: From Washington to Present Day | Experience American history from a presidential perspective. Examine the U.S. presidents, focusing on their challenges, achievements and the lessons their presidencies offer for contemporary politics. Delve into miscellaneous topics related to the presidents including their unique personalities and idiosyncrasies.

Learner Outcomes

Identify three challenges faced by all U.S. presidents and discuss the historical context of these challenges; Compare and contrast five key presidential achievements past or present; Give three examples of lessons from past presidencies and apply them to current political and social issues; Explore the personalities, idiosyncrasies, and unique traits of each president, and describe two examples of how a presidents personality helped to shape their presidency.
