Course Description

Examine brief passages from great books of the Western and Eastern traditions, American speeches, and folktales from around the world. Collaborate as creative thinkers in a guided discussion. Explore new ways of thinking, speaking, listening and exchanging ideas.

Learner Outcomes

Develop and improve communication skills of listening, thinking, speaking, and writing; Compare passages of literature, philosophy, history, and science from the Western tradition to modern-day experiences; Recite passages from the authors of Western literary tradition, such as Homer, Francis Bacon, St. Augustine, and Plato; Create journal entries; Develop leadership skills in discussion dynamics that can be applied to life, family and civic contributions.
