Generations: What Changed and Why | Study the key shifts in attitudes and lifestyle choices that have defined each American generation from the Missionaries (born 1860-1882) through Gen Z. Explore the factors that drove change.

Learner Outcomes

Study the key shifts in culture for the American generation from the Missionaries through Generation Z; Review the findings of Jean Twinge and others and seek to understand the causes of generational change; Examine the changes that have become apparent in marriage, income distribution, mental health, race, sexuality, politics, and technology; Evaluate the conventional theory that generational differences are caused by major events; Compare the findings of various authors and consider their conclusions.
